Strength is 1 of the 8 player stats in Grand Theft Auto 5. Building Strength increases your melee damage, and allows you to take more damage, such as falling from high places without much consequence. It also allows you to climb ladders 10% faster once it is maxed. Strength is increased by 1% for every 20 punches thrown. Playing sports such as Golf, Tennis and Darts will also increase strength. Additionally, higher Strength allows the player to drive a golf ball further and hit a tennis ball faster.
